A women's photoshoot step by step

Natalia Nitecka

If you’re wondering what exactly a women’s photoshoot looks like, in this post I’ll try to walk you through it step by step, so I can clear up any doubts you might have!

The how, where and when - our first contact

We usually settle all the details over email: the place and date, the type and scope of the session. On top of that, I answer any questions that might be on your mind. Before we meet, I send you tips on how to prepare. At every stage you can count on my support.

If you’ve never been through something like this, you may not know what a women’s photoshoot looks like or what to expect from it. To make things easier, based on my experience so far I suggest which outfits work best for women’s sessions. I share ideas about the aspects of your look worth taking care of, so that you feel your very best during our time together.

I shoot in atmospheric interiors around Warsaw - I choose the place to fit the date and the character of the photos. If you have a vision that would call for shooting in a different location of your own, I’m open to that too. Just let me know when you book your date :)

A women’s photoshoot - you’re in good hands

I offer three different packages of women’s photoshoots (you can find the details on the women’s session page). They differ in the number of digital and printed photos you receive after the session.

If you chose the option with makeup and hair styling, then right before the session one of my wonderful makeup artists takes care of you. A complete makeup and styling look takes about 1.5 hours. You no longer need to worry about what a women’s photoshoot looks like, because by now you know you’re in good hands :) Let’s get to it!

While the makeup artist takes care of your look, you’ll have time to enjoy a coffee or a drink, chat with us and relax. I also show you what the albums and packaged prints look like. Holding the album cover sampler in your hands, you can choose the colour and fabric you’d like for your own.

The magic of a women’s photoshoot

Makeup and hair are ready. You look at yourself in the mirror and see that you look absolutely stunning (it sounds like marketing talk, but it really is true - I love watching you in this moment)! As the makeup artist packs up, we lay out the things you brought and choose which outfit to start the session with.

A few seconds from behind the scenes - this is what the session looks like from my side of the camera.

You go to get changed, and once you’re ready, I give you a few tips on how to position yourself in front of the camera. If, for example, we start with photos on the sofa, I show you how you can sit or lie on it, and you choose the option that feels comfortable. If you feel at ease and have your own ideas, we bring them to life together.

The first few minutes can be a little tricky, but the moment I show you the photos on the camera, things get better right away. I try not to impose my own vision, but if you don’t have one of your own, I lay out the possible options. And so, together, with nice music and good conversation, we spend about 1.5 hours creating great photos.

… a moment of patience. The results of a women’s photoshoot

When we decide we’ve taken enough photos, we say goodbye, and I sit down at the computer to make an initial selection. I also apply a simple filter and create a gallery, so that within just a few days you can pick your favourite shots.

Once that’s done, I edit the photos you’ve chosen, design the album and send you a proposal for your approval (only if you chose a package with a photo album). If you like the album design, I send it to my supplier, the nphoto company, and we wait for the order to be produced. When the parcel finally reaches me, I get to packing and prepare the shipment for you. Done! Now all that’s left is to enjoy a beautiful keepsake or surprise a loved one with a special gift :)

If you’re dreaming of a photoshoot and want to book a date, write to me - or reach out through Instagram or Facebook.
